If you are a professional or experienced homeowner, don't worry. I was skilled when I was young, but not anymore. The project involved re-caulking the kitchen sink. A metal scraper was useful for the prep, but it had to be reworked with a screwdriver/chisel. Ran a bead and then a white silicone pad. I applied too much sealer so I had trouble getting the sealer all over. The sealant was difficult to remove from the silicone gasket and required a peeling effort during the sealant. After removing the excess from the countertop and sink, I used a wet finger for a final finish. I used a blue scraper to remove most of the remaining smeared caulk and then a chisel. The end result looks good. Would I buy it again? no
