Pluses: Light, with a huge shade brim, looks very well made. The color is a nice neutral that will likely stay cleaner than a standard white sun hat (although it would be nice to have a white option too). more air circulation and therefore stay cooler. The BIG problem with this hat, which is now an insurmountable shortcoming, is that it really does NOT offer full sun protection. through a large band of wide-pored mesh on the side of the hat. As someone looking for a full sun visor this is a HUGE MISTAKE and I am very disappointed. I looked in my inventory to see if there was anything that could discreetly close the hole from the inside - unfortunately I'm currently considering returning the hat. I don't understand why the hell such a bad "breathable" fabric was chosen. This defeats the main purpose of wearing a SUN hat (for most people). So very, very disappointed! Update: Had a hat as a spare and wore it on a cool, partly cloudy day. It provides great shade, but still feels cozy - a cord is hardly or not at all necessary, because the suction cup does not come loose even in the wind. For $15, it does the job in limited sunlight. This hat could have been perfect if there was more space and the mesh was fixed. PLEASE REPAIR! UPDATE #2 Just bought a second hat. I had a really hard time finding hats with wide brims on all sides so until I found a hat without a mesh this was the best I found, especially at this price point. While my initial disappointment remains, I'll add one star.
