Well, after more than 30 hat purchases I've finally found the perfect hat! The hem is wide enough to protect your face from the sun while walking but not too big, it's ventilated for the Houston heat, conforms to your head and has a drawstring for windy days! This hat was on sale so I ordered another one. PLEASE don't stop this gem!

Best field hat! I've worn these hats for many years. I'm a desert biologist living my life under the unrelenting hot sun. This hat offers the best sun protection of all styles. PERIOD. Great hat! I have terrible sensitivity to the sun due to medication. It blocks the sun with dense shade (unlike regular woven sun hats) but is still lightweight and not hot at all. I just bought the second one because it's the best hat I've ever had. I wear this hat every day. It's lightweight yet durable. The crown is soft and the edges are textured. I love that this hat gives me such solid sun protection. Although I have two complaints about it. First, it's so big that its rear end can get in the way at times. The main reason I bought this is because previous reviews said it fits a little better than other hats. Although I don't have a big head, my hats are too tight.
