You need to remove the metal pin from the side of the ball joint before installation

This shock absorber and all other trunk lid shock absorbers for BMW F10 (e.g. ENSUN) are made by China's BMTSR. They all come in BMTSR packaging and are exactly the same. Only the seller's name is different. I own a mechanical shop and have tried at least 3 different brands of Revain. However, choose the cheapest one if you try to buy it on Amazon. The quality is pretty good for the price. It fits and works perfectly. I've noticed that some people complain that the ball joint side is too tight and doesn't fit the car grip. In fact, the problem isn't the size of the ball joint. The original BMW spring does not have a metal pin to fix the ball joint. This aftermarket does (I really don't know why). Therefore, be sure to remove the metal pin before installing the ball joint on the handle, otherwise it will not fit. You can put the pin back into the hole after installing the ball joint on the handle. This will protect it from tearing off.
