I am very disappointed in these plugs! I bought them for my 1 3/4" sink. First, they are very difficult to "insert" as required by the instructions. The little ball in the center makes it difficult to press down on the actual center without them tilting to one side. Secondly, unless they are pushed as hard as possible, they won't stop the water at all. If you wash your dishes frequently, they are likely to move up or sideways, draining all the water before it cools. Oh, and finally, once you cut them all the way down and let them hold water for an hour or two, it's going to be a pain to pull them out of the drains by that little ball. *face* Now I have yet to find drain plugs for 1 3/4" drains and it was a waste of money.
