Not as pretty as I hoped

Bought these for my living room coffee table and I'm not as happy as I could be. I was hoping they would be more of a caramel color but lighter. They had some random pieces of straw in them and weren't trimmed properly. They certainly serve my purpose, but I would have liked a better finish and a darker color.
