We filtered yellow water, reddish water and even water from a pond that turned out to be closed due to a high level. We didn't get sick and didn't have any negative reactions. Water has always tasted good. Straw/Suck: This is an important point for this type of product. We found it easy to suck large amounts through a straw with minimal effort. Not difficult and not at all painful in the mouth. Just an easy to use product that does exactly what it says on the tin. Highly recommended!
