Review on STABILicers Snow and Ice Walking Traction Cleats (1 Pair) by Sirious Cavalli

Probably won't buy again

Most people complain about the size. I won't be here, they fit well. I care about the functionality. Pros: Excellent grip. They hold the ice really well and the metal spikes are embedded in so much rubber that they won't pop out anytime soon. I can't say anything about the durability of the rubber yet. Dislikes: Very loud. It's like walking in slippers. They really are too loud and way louder than some of the more minimalistic cleats I've used over the past year. What I don't like at all: Terribly spoils the gear. On dry pavement (not ice everywhere) or tile or whatever, you'll be 1/2 inch taller. Even in the mud, the rubber is 1/4 inch thick. But that's not really a problem: the real problem is that the contact points are pretty small and pretty tight. Also, the back isn't a heel grip - instead, it's behind my arch. So the weight of my foot doesn't rest on the heel but on the arch of the foot which is awful and almost immediately the inflammation of the plantar fasciitis starts. For the last few years I have thrown away the minimal boots (because of the northern ones) because they died quickly. , but they were fairly quiet and had almost no impact on gait. These really ruin everything. I will try yaktraks next time. I will only leave these anti-roll bars for winter trips to and from the car to work. I would never walk them as they almost feel like they are on stilts.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Some bugs
