I am very impressed with this vise and Yost. I have some very good quality WWII Swiss vises and Wilton vises that I treasure. Yost vises come out of the box clean, smooth, beautifully finished and proudly stand alongside other premium vises as a quality product. Not oily and raw as you would expect at this price point. It is compact and resembles my ball vise in appearance. I paired this with a 4" aluminum Yost cap so I could have smooth jaws with no magnets. I can't use magnets as they have their risks to the things I'm working on. It's a great product too and you really like the way you 'shape' and bend the caps with a hammer in a vise so they stay in place and still come off easily. On top of that, Yost has genuine customer support. I emailed them about smooth jaws on their website and they pointed me to aluminum caps. I have a comment for the new owner of this vise. The rotating base comes very firmly. Probably so that it doesn't come loose during transport. Rotary vise base locks loosen like any other bolt (i.e. tightened on the right, loosened on the left). Take your time loosening them, I had to carefully loosen them with a screwdriver and pry a little on the vise.
