I bought 2 sets of bags to use for different things on our sailboat. We like the small size to keep all our stuff organized in the backpacks when we go ashore. I use them to lift things into the cockpit while sailing. Not only do things stay dry, but they don't fly either. The bags are lightweight but definitely waterproof when properly rolled up. They are not as heavy as our Sealine bags but have a very different purpose. I would suggest using them for anything that might get wet near water or in the rain, but I wouldn't necessarily put my phone in there and practice kayaking. Everything on a sailboat soaks up moisture, so it's even nice to keep TP and meds and chips rolled up in one bag.
