For simple winter wheels to have such respectable cross-country capabilities, it seems that these spikes, if necessary, protrude from the tires like the claws of the Wolverine. I haven't used the extended warranty to replace the wheel in case of lost spikes because I haven't lost the spikes in a year. Of course, I don't take my Elantra out in the dead of winter, but there are plenty of "survival" adventures to be had in the city, and I've managed to drive myself safely away from any problems I've encountered. Who else is interested, the driving comfort is remarkable, with minimal noise and a gentle ride, in addition to the vehicle's exceptional cross-country capability.
