I had an Apple battery case that was almost 3x the cost of this. Unfortunately, I grabbed it wrong and tore the silicone, which is very hard to repair, so I got this. I was glad when I saw this in "Rose Gold" because the Apple one only comes in black. It is pink, not rose gold, just for the record. The back of the case is nice, but the front reminds me of bubblegum colored plastic and is hard. I think that it will protect my phone if it falls, but I'm not sure that the edge sticks out far enough. I got it for the iPhone 8 and it does not recognize the battery, so it will not show you how much life is left on your phone, but there is a meter next to the on/off button (unless there is some setting that I haven't found). The advantage that this one does have is that you can turn it off and on. If you want to let your phone run down, then charge it, you can keep the battery off until you need it. The speaker amplifies your phone nicely, too. A huge con is that it don't use the same charger as the iPhone, it uses the kind that you would use to charge an Android. It's not terrible, but I wish that I didn't ruin my Apple one.
