After careful consideration, I will change my previous review. I didn't delete my previous comments, I just pasted them into the setup instructions for this thing. I am 63 years old, I am disabled and it took an hour and a half with painful movements. Reading this below will make things go much faster for you. I made one mistake after another. Tiny instructions, written primarily for multi-device buyers, are very confusing. How to set up a light switch and receiver plug.1. Plug the receiver into the wall. A bright red light will appear, this is your "button" for further actions. This great light has no other known function than a display of power. Open the back panel of the light switch (this panel will need to be screwed to the wall separately later) and set it aside. Open the battery compartment and remove the paper cover from the tiny battery inside. outlet) and reattach the cover plate.3. Open the separate bag of screws, remove the screws and carefully insert them where they won't roll. Tiny screws hold it to the wall, I bet the next quake we have like the one in Ridgecrest will hit the switch right away. the wall that probably plunged me into darkness during the earthquake.4. Attach the plastic backing to the wall (I used double sided tape for this and it helped a lot) and insert the screws. Again they are very short, I hope this sucker sticks to the wall.5. Program the light switch yourself by pressing and holding the button (this red light stays on until it slowly flashes. Press the light switch buttons until you find this turns the light on and off. 6. Hang the switch on the installed one Wall plate by hanging it on a small hook like plastic strips on the wall plate. Now you have set up a setup with a light source and a switch. Lights up everywhere. Good luck to you all. The red light on the output part is really annoying and not needed It works but I will NOT be buying this item again in the future.
