Sea water yes, fresh water no
The product was perfect for my sea water aquarium. I followed the directions on the bottle and in less than 2 weeks all the algae was gone. HOWEVER, I don't expect the same result for my freshwater tank. In fact, it seems to harm the live plants in the aquarium. I treated both tanks at the same time, the fresh water tank did not respond well to this product. The algae were still untouched in the aquarium.
