Review on PTS FLAMINGO TOOLS Universal Aluminum Clamping by Vincent Pavelko

Good mini vise for small bench drills. Supplied without mounting hardware, but easily mounts to the press base with standard mounting hardware. Instead of a couple of mounting holes, it has long slots so it can be used with almost any small press, or you can mount it directly on a workbench to use as a mini vise. This block is primarily aluminum but strong enough to clamp onto metal pipes, blocks of wood, and other smaller objects while drilling. The quick release lets you clamp an item quickly, and you simply turn the knob to tighten it just the way you need it. The threaded rod makes a decent impression and can be clamped quite firmly if necessary. The quick release button is cheap plastic but I haven't had any issues with the mechanism and kept the pieces after using them on different materials and tried to see if I could break the quick release mechanism with a lot of use. Everything looks good so far. Overall this is a nice little flat vise for the price and I like the bright green color too. Nothing to complain about here, it's a simple tool and it seems to work well. I don't expect it to hold up to heavy use but it was ok for small stuff storage in my home shop.
