Review on Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM Lens - Compatible with Canon DSLR Cameras (Lens Only) by Toyofuku Hideo ᠌

Not the best quality, but generally not bad.

I do not recommend taking it without first trying it on, i. E. do not purchase online. Because the burden of proof for lens curvature will ultimately fall on you. And significant money will already be spent. The corporate service will say that everything suits him, the status is enough for the service, and the curved lens will remain with you. The service can even "fix" something in it, after which it remains to curse the day when you decided to apply there :) It is useless to contact the canon representative office - they will send it to . service. Like, no one in canon can decide whether they see crooked photos or not. Like, in the canon itself there are no arbitrators or specialists. But if the service even says correctly to a bunch of broken glass, then that's the way it is. There is no referee. Yes, I dealt with more than one instance. And not only with this model. And only with branded services. Good luck with your shopping!

Pros
  • Theoretically, the lens is excellent. Light zoom, wide angle, good focal lengths. Indoor video is less noisy in the picture or even noiseless. The zoom is soft and smooth.
Cons
  • You cannot buy a lens that is uniform in sharpness across the entire field of view. It's not about the corners being the same as the center, no. The point is that one edge will definitely be extremely soapy. And the other edges will be excellent, or tolerable. But cutting soap can reach about 1/5 of the frame field. On each instance, this edge will be different. There is a legend that somewhere there is the only copy whose edges are at least the same, but life is much harsher. And all this pleasure is by no means for $50. Video must be written carefully, because. focus tapping can still be heard. Those. or an outboard mic, or ignore it by using tricks to use the focus.
