Review on 📸 Anker 2-in-1 USB C SD Card Reader for SDXC, SDHC, MMC, Micro SDXC, Micro SDHC Cards | UHS-I Compatible by James Mayberry

I've used this twice, plugged directly into my 2017 Macbook Pro, I used the same connector and it worked fine twice. The third time I tried to use it with a micro SD card, my computer warned me to unplug a device that was drawing too much power and disabling USB devices. I disabled the anchor and now it and my card smell very strongly of burnt metal. I assume the anchor is completely dead and I don't have the guts to connect it to any of my cards as they have all the data on them. I really really really hope my card details are intact. Can't test this as a friend uses a camera I usually use him with. I would not currently recommend this product. The only thing that got two stars from me was in the Ease of Use category, because it successfully read two different SD cards while recording, exactly twice before the whole thing failed. Wouldn't recommend anyone buying this if it's prone to crashing on the third use. I REALLY hope my micro SD data is safe and sound. I'm really surprised because Anker is usually a pretty reliable brand.
