Review on πŸ”ͺ The Ultimate Sharpening Solution: SHAPTON Kuromaku Ceramic Whetstone Shapton by Matt Simpson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Shapton inexpensive

Just started recently to sharpen my knives. I bought a cheap set of bricks to learn the basics. The 1000 didn't cut and the 6000 was so soft that the tips of my knives went ridges. I've finally decided to invest in higher quality stones and so far I'm really liking them. 1000 seems very aggressive, but that may be due to my first stones. I really like the Splash and Go, much easier to use and the storage box is a good mount. I've only sharpened two knives so far so I'll update my review in a few months. I wonder how these stones wear out.

Pros
  • Medium grit (#1000) also used for coarse grit / Fine grit (#5000, #8000) and ultra fine grit (#12000) works well for finishing
Cons
  • Quick guide
