Soda Lime Tempered Glass vs Borosilicate Glass

Item carefully/safely packed with no damage. It's worth noting that they have a slight blue cast, which according to a quick Google search means they're "Made by World Kitchen and are made from toughened soda-lime glass instead of borosilicate glass." World Kitchen justified the change by stating that soda-lime glass is cheaper to manufacture and is the most common shape of glass in US bakeware. The older Pyrex, and apparently a European Pyrex, is still made of borosilicate glass and has no obvious tint. FWIW, believed to be soda-lime glass, "is more resistant to breakage when dropped, which is believed to be the leading cause of glass bakeware breakage." However, there is an apparent problem in that soda-lime glass is not as heat-resistant as borosilicate glass. "They don't make them like they used to" - I've been thinking that to myself more and more lately!
