Review on Swanson Tool S0101 7 Inch Square by Bob Fasho

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Wrong (straight) tool

I've had these angles for about 2 years. I am not a contractor and take good care of my tools. I used the 6" square more than the 12". I never noticed any problems with this angle until recently when using it to check the alignment of a cabinet hardware bracket. The wide base of the square is not flat. It is warped in length by about 1/16 inch which is significant for this length. I put it on a flat surface and tested it several times. I know it's a frame square, but it made me question the accuracy of the entire tool. I contacted Swanson and they were willing to replace the square if I sent it to them for review. Unfortunately, shipping mostly covers the cost of a replacement.

Pros
  • EASY TO USE: 1/4" marking notches and diamond cutout for easy cutting of rafter seats and marking of most common and popular rack sizes
Cons
  • Some little things
