Review on GM Genuine Parts 25877453 Dome Lamp & Reading Lamp Switch by Javarie Brumfield

This was an exact replacement right down to ID and Patent numbers as the map light came on on my Sierra. Specifically, the 2011 GMC Sierra 2500HD SLT. On my truck, changing the switch required removing the lens (lamp cover) by prying out the two access holes on the back of the lens with a small flat head screwdriver. The rubber portion of the button then attaches to the clip and releases simply by pulling down. From there I unscrewed the two screws holding the overhead console on the left and right sides with a T15 or T20 torx screwdriver, I forgot which size. The front of this console is secured with a clip fastener and can be easily pulled out by pulling down, allowing the console to release. From there, the old switch slides off the plug like an extension cord at home. Put a new one on, reassemble the console in reverse order, put it in the clips, install the torx screws, insert the button rubber (the clip fits, no glue needed) and install the lens again. It is easiest to mount the lens at the back first (closer to the back glass) and at the front last. Exactly what I needed. I wish all genuine parts were that easy to find online. However, I couldn't find the part number for the switch on any microfiche online, so it was a lucky guess by comparing the picture to what I saw in my truck.
