Review on Circular saw Makita 5008MG, 1800 W blue/silver by Mateusz Smoliski ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great product, a pleasure to use.

The saw is not universal, strictly for hardwood or for exhausting long work. To saw her pine boards and plywood - like a cannon on sparrows, it hurts to the point of electricity, it is gluttonous and overall. Once the board pinched my disk, the saw did not stand on ceremony and flew into the sky for a couple of meters, while its more modest sisters simply stop. But nothing terrible happened, nothing broke and no one was hurt. It is prone to overheating in the heat, so my advice is to hide it in the shade more often and let it cool down after half an hour of work.

Pros
  • The torque and speed are like those of a machine tool, with pleasure it dissolves a raw larch chopping block-five, like a hot knife through butter. Comfortable handles, a strong grip, the absence of a button blocker that I hate so much (I remove the blocker on other instruments myself). The casing and sole are made of magnesium, which gives 5 strength and -10 to the weight of the machine, an additional metal grill on the engine air intake, and it looks beautiful and protects from sawdust entering the motor. According to the first one, there was a soft start, then it evaporated somewhere, but even without it it starts softly, does not break out of the hands. Illumination of the working area, it is quite possible to work at dusk. A good rubber cord that is not afraid of either heat or frost.
Cons
  • Bullets with fragments in the eyes, on the one hand, even a plus - it makes you think about personal protective equipment, like a shield or glasses. It makes noise so that it is better not to turn it on without earplugs or protective headphones, it hurts the eardrums. As colleagues have already written, the guide bracket is made of bad metal, it bends a lot. In the extremely high position, the tip of the guard continues to stick out below the sole, which prevents the saw from being level on the floor.
