Good solid base suitable for power tools and hand tools

Reviewed other Revain products - other reviewers noted many of them have plastic feet for raising and lowering the base. This one has steel parts; Aside from the wheels, the entire device is made of steel - very strong and not at all fragile. My Craftsman table saw, which weighs less than 100 pounds, poses no problem with this base. The assembly instructions weren't perfect, but they got the job done. Refer to the exploded view at the beginning of the manual to help determine part orientation. The actual assembly is easy; The real fun begins when you set up your table saw or other tool. Finding the right sizes is a "puzzle" not covered in the instruction manual, and not an easy task until you get it right. You can move the rods in 1 inch increments, and the larger rod on each side (as I assembled it) has slots that allow it to be moved about Β½ inch, so accuracy is achievable. I assembled and disassembled the side rails a few times to find the right size to fit the saw table legs over the holes in the corner pieces of the moveable base. It helps to use a jack or something to raise the saw about an inch or so just above the base, making the process a little less "hands on". By adjusting the slot bar at the corner and then where it connects to the smaller hole bar it looks like you can get infinite adjustment, but it takes a lot of fiddling to actually secure the saw to the base. With that, I got everything tightened and was ready to go. A few things to remember: The saw at its base is now about 4 to 5 inches lower due to its location on the corner pieces and support cams. My saw doesn't fit the side of the garage as well as it used to; only "upside down" if you're short on space. it's time to clear this up and I'm convinced I can't fix it; looks like it's a slight offset of the welded bracket on the corner piece - even β…› inch would be enough to change the camping effect. It's not a deal breaker, but it's a little annoying that they couldn't more accurately locate the footcam mount. plastic wheels. A good buy for just a few dollars more than the cheap plastic model.
