Fragile horrible design

Just got 4 Bora PM-2500 mobile bases. Bought based on my positive previous purchase of a PM-3500 for my Powermatic table saw. The first tool placed on the base, a 16-inch band saw mounted on the PM-2500, was a disaster. The horizontal channels folded even though the tool's weight was within the weight specification for the PM-2500. DO NOT BUY PM-2500. Mobile base 2500! This is a weak, poorly designed device. UPDATE: I've been playing around with the base, thought I had it set sensibly. I ran…

Mobile base of the highest quality

This mobile base is very durable and easy to use. I bought this for my 14 inch band saw which I need to move every now and then but not often. When stationary, the band saw is just as strong and vibration-free as without a moving base. The front wheels are easy to use and the tool rolls easily. Despite some complaints about the small build and the complexity of the build, I didn't find it difficult to put together. As for the build/parts diagram, I just scanned it. and zoomed in 2x and it was…

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

I bought this for a 10 inch radial saw. I have a Delta mobile base for a Delta table saw. I love the design so I thought about buying a universal mobile base from Delta that has the same design (like a single pedal). But the versatile Delta requires purchasing expensive hardwood and then drilling and cutting. Too much time. That's why I chose this portamat. Assembly was initially slow because the instructions have a tiny diagram and it was difficult for my middle-aged eyes to read. But after…

DO NOT SPEND TIME OR MONEY

This product is not what it says it is. Overall database performance leaves a lot to be desired at best. It's not easy to assemble, rather the instructions don't seem clear. I put this base under a 350 pound band saw (this base is rated for 650 pounds, not that much). Moving the base twice the front wheel started to sag and due to the weight of the saw I lost my footing the third time I set the saw up causing the saw to get stuck in one spot. I would order a different base. It seems to me that…

Very customizable, durable, allow some time for assembly

Aside from the wheels and locking mechanisms, the instructions are pretty useless and boring. I will say that the base is extremely customizable. You have to use your imagination in a way. I had one side of the 19" base, so I nested the shorter 12" section inside the 18, keeping the two sides of the rectangle more rigid and keeping the "spare parts" with the base. Suggested tools are an adjustable wrench and tape measure. I would have put this together for hours if I hadn't had a basic set of…

They are great for installing a washer and dryer!

I bought two of these and installed them on our new LG front loading washer and dryer stands. I placed the raising/lowering paddles to the rear and made a pole with a hook on the end to hook or retract the wheels. So we can now roll these extremely heavy machines out of the wash at any time. My wife is 5ft 2in and 120# can do it by herself. The only problem I had was that the front wheels couldn't move on their own. They can sway, which allows the washing machine to "walk” on the floor. So I…

  • Everything is fine!

Good value for money with only a few minor complaints

I was concerned because the machine I installed on this base weighs 500 pounds. However, the mobile base is rated at 650 pounds. and seems to handle a heavy machine well. It works well, has a low base height and good build quality. Another nice feature of this base is that it falls on its feet when parked, unlike those that rely on wheel locks. Roller locks often do not lock well enough. Reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the instructions were pretty useless. It had several paragraphs and…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • It's fine

The table saw I have (Unisaw 5HP) weighs 650 pounds so I went with the heavy PM2500 which is listed at 650 pounds. I didn't use them as intended and made my own base to support the wide table extension, about 6ft wide, and attached Borat wheel assemblies to my custom base, ditching the Borat metal supports entirely. The front struts are a great feature for setting the right height for easy lifting and providing a secure hold on release without slipping. The foot pedals snap easily for lifting…

Good solid base suitable for power tools and hand tools

Reviewed other Revain products - other reviewers noted many of them have plastic feet for raising and lowering the base. This one has steel parts; Aside from the wheels, the entire device is made of steel - very strong and not at all fragile. My Craftsman table saw, which weighs less than 100 pounds, poses no problem with this base. The assembly instructions weren't perfect, but they got the job done. Refer to the exploded view at the beginning of the manual to help determine part orientation…
