Review on Kapro 307-08-TMS Try And Mitre Layout And Marking Square With Stainless Steel Blade, 8-Inch Length by Jerry Moody

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Sorta useful features

I have a 24 inch steel square that I believe was once owned by my great-great grandfather. OK, maybe not but it's really old and it's difficult to read and, in many cases, too big. This is a pretty nice 12 inch square that has what I thought were a few useful features at first. Yes, there are holes in one side to you can make a mark with a pencil. But, you'd better be using a sharp pencil to fit in the holes. And, there are a number of markings to help you mark angles for example. But, all of the markings on the square are the same color as the square. Nice feature, but you'll need to use it in a well lit workshop; making the markings black would have been so much better. But, hey, it's a square and it's well.square.

Pros
  • Just the gift I was looking for
Cons
  • The square is not suitable for use with all materials, such as round or irregular shapes

This is a handy little square, which does the job very well. Fits in my toolbox nicely, has clear markings, and is a good value.

This Kapro 309-12 Legend Try & Mitre Square with Stainless Steel Blade is complete useless garbage basically. The measurements are just for show I guess because they are off. All it can be used for is to draw a line across a plank, and hope it really is squre. I pass!
