Review on Bob Ross Oil Color Tube by Gelin Battle

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Universal, not just for mountains.

Ideal for mountains and places where a very dark color is required for wet-on-wet applications. The actual color appears to be a mixture of mainly black and Prussian blue, perhaps with a touch of Ptalo blue and Alizarin carmine. The ratio is 6 to 1 in favor of black. Very dark. When adding it to white, I often use it for dark mountain shadows. I add a good bunch of green sap and use that as the base for the trees. A very versatile color for a fairly simple one. Bob Ross color is not the best but price is one of the best. There is absolutely nothing wrong with using it, despite what any reviews say. The value for money is excellent. People who have issues with the occasional excess oil in those tubes don't understand how these paints are made and how they age.
