You should never connect more than 4 devices to the same power line. Each power supply has two or more lines, each with 2 to 4 connectors, the types of these connectors may vary depending on the model. This cable is not designed to add additional or duplicate power connectors, it should only be used to add such connectors to a line that has no or fewer than 2 SATA power connectors. Connecting additional devices (more than 4) to the same power line can produce multiple results. You may not have enough power to boot from your hard drive because the line is exceeding its performance limits, but you can also damage your drives, your power supply, or even your entire PC hardware. Only by knowing exactly how much current is fed to each line and how much current is consumed by all the devices connected to that line in total can you calculate whether an additional device can handle it or not.
