I have never had fish in my life as I am always worried about how much work it takes to maintain an aquarium. When I finally decided I wanted fish, I did some research and found that rooster fish can be a great fish for beginners because they require minimal effort. So I got this 1.5 gallon aquarium which according to most online reviews is the minimum size for bettas. I was a bit apprehensive because it only got 3.5 stars, but I think it has all the components I need: filters, LED lighting, flat tank surface (for minimal image distortion), and style. I'm so glad I got this. It's been a month now and my rooster is very happy with it which in turn has made me very happy. I've bought so many accessories (gravel, decoration, exercise equipment, feed, toys, heater, live plants, thermometer, etc.) since I got my rooster (so much for minimal fuss lol). I see myself upgrading that 1.5 gallon tank to a 3 gallon tank in a few months and getting an even bigger one after I get used to cleaning and water changes. The only two negative things I can think of about this tank are that the acrylic finish scratches easily and the filter is a little strong for such a small tank. But both can be fixed. To avoid scratches, you must be careful not to clean the tank with abrasive sponges. I scratched my tank a bit because when I sponge washed I didn't notice that there was a little bit of gravel stuck between my sponge and the surface of the tank, and I ended up with long scratches along the front (but that's ok. I'll be up soon 3 switch -x liters) To reduce the high flow generated by the filter, I can always buy another filter (there are many filter recommendations on Revain for small aquariums). I highly recommend this tank!
