I bought this to replace a 7 year old Broan fan that was getting noisy. I was expecting the bushings in the original motor to be worn and the resulting wobble making noise when running. Install new fan, same noise! The problem is that the squirrel cage fan's molded plastic housing is poorly balanced, which causes vibration. The motor has rubber mounts to minimize vibration, but that's only marginal. The only advantage is that the new motor has a run capacitor and the power consumption is much lower than the old fan motor.
