It took an hour to remove the old unit and install the new MOEN. If I didn't want to change the sink flange, it would be much quicker. But I didn't want the old brand on the flange of the new shredder. It was installed in one of my rental houses. I need something that will stand up to a family that cooks. The hardest part of the job was removing the old sink flange. It sat there for a few decades, and the installer used GLUE instead of plumber. It's always fun to follow the work of others. After removing the old sink flange and cleaning the sink, the new flange was professionally installed with putty and attached to the new disposer. Installation time, after removing all old parts, about 15 minutes. I'm a handyman, not a plumber. AND Hush! I've grown up around donors most of my life. These are loud industrial things that grind food. The new MOEN is three times more powerful, its motor spins twice as fast and its noise is ten times quieter than the old device. This is the winner. Top marks in all respects. Very impressed with the looks, easy installation and quiet operation. I will definitely be purchasing a Moen shredder for my other properties if needed.
