Works surprisingly well. When I first attempted to install an inner tube on the rear wheel of a 2004 Honda CRF50, I destroyed the inner tube by accidentally pinching it while replacing the tire. Due to an epiphany, before installing the next tube, I sprayed the rim and bead area of the WD40 tire. Once I inserted the tube into the tire, I inflated it slightly, after which the tire eventually became buttery soft. With WD40 covering the rim and tube, it was much easier to ensure the points of the pry bar weren't pinching the tube. When using the WD40 I didn't have to use a rim protector either, I just made sure the rims were free of dirt and debris. I don't feel bad at all that I no longer have to drive 40 minutes and pay a local shop $50 to have the tube replaced. They work great. Highly recommended.
