Weird combo but definitely fun

It took me a while to get used to this leather and nylon combo, but as long as you're willing to admit you have "some" benefits, behold it looks smart, but you lose some of it's strengths. Here's just part of my opinion below, I think the weirdness has to do with the differences in the materials and what they usually do for our purposes. The advantage of leather is that you get a durable, flexible material that is smooth to the touch. The advantages of nylon are quick drying, versatility and comfort/breathability. Leather clearly beats one of nylon's biggest advantages. I think the uniqueness of the strap outweighs the loss in utility, but that's up to you to decide. I think it suffers a little from the "let's try something new" attempts to bring us new mixed material, but it's not really out of the park. The strengths of the materials combine to create a unique bracelet, while Ritche's leather-nylon hybrid comes a little closer to pure aesthetics than any particular use. The stitching is first class, the reinforcement around the holes is very nice and I can see this strap wears well and lasts a very long time compared to the Barton strap mentioned above. Of course, even with a nylon strap, I won't get it wet. This strap seems to be best suited for a rugged/road/field style watch that you want to spice up a bit for going out but still look tactical without going all the way to a nato or canvas strap. I'm not sure who this harness is really for. But it does a pretty good job of separating the difference between a tactical/durable and a stylish leather look. For this reason I can't give 5 stars but I still like how it looks on my watch.

Pros
  • Beautiful thing
Cons
  • Too long to wait
