At first, the difference with the whale lens, apart from aperture, seemed insignificant to me, and the quality was worse in comparison with the whale (18-55mm f / 4-5.6). It just turned out to be an illusion. The subject surpasses any whale in general in many ways: sharpness, excellent bokeh, frame stabilization. If you are not satisfied with the kit lens and variable aperture, then this lens is simply the best, even with all the shortcomings I have voiced. The best lens for crop. It weighs heavily, but it is powerful itself, and its power is confirmed in operation even in the most difficult conditions. The footage is just fantastic. At first I didn’t understand what the difference was, but after a while you, like me, will never find glass better than this to replace anything. I have been actively exploiting it for 2 years, replacing the whale that is resting in the box.
