I bought two of these for my home generator. Each one controls a 120v leg of my 240v power supply from my generator to my home's main accessory panel during a power outage. In the picture, the generator is running with no load, so the current drawn is not measured in amperes. Installation was easy and the hardest part was cutting a square hole for them to fit. They also came with an induction coil already attached, so it's actually quite difficult to mess up the wiring. I'll let you know later if we have an accident. I live in rural Northern California, so I'm expecting work stoppages this summer when it gets hot and dry. Update: Simulated a power outage today to see how these gauges behave under load. Amps or volts, I'm not that picky. I just wanted to control the load as my alternator is obsolete and I wanted to make sure the voltage stayed constant and the load didn't exceed the alternator's capacity. I was pleasantly surprised and very happy with the gauges!
