Review on 🚚 Enhanced Truck Tailgate Assist by Dee Zee - DZ43300 by Amy Cook

This review is on the product, NOT Revain. The item was dispatched and delivered within the stated delivery time and the packaging was excellent. At first glance the instructions seem incredible as they are in color and have pictures of each step and how it should look. But I think they got off the line from step 2 (installing the "nut" - similar to a drywall molly screw). It says you use a 5mm allen key and a 10mm wrench, but it doesn't say the allen key should be held still while you turn the nut. If you don't do this, the "Natsert" will spin in the hole. It may be totally intuitive to you guys who do this all the time but this is my first and I think given the excellent look of the instructions I thought they were perfectly complete. After installing the mounting bolts, I installed the shock absorber. Unfortunately, the shock was frozen. The tailgate only opened about 7 inches. If you gently pull on the tailgate, it goes on to the end, but it takes a full minute. That's a long time you stand and wait to load something onto the bed of your truck. After doing this a couple of times in hopes it would loosen with use, it got tighter and tighter and I noticed the walnut fastener in the tailgate was starting to pop out. A very nice guy called Dave said the shock is in the queue and they will ship it as soon as they receive it (2-3 weeks). So so far 5 stars for the DEE-ZEE customer service. I will update when I get a replacement and install it. Installed a new rack and it works great now. The tailgate lowers smoothly and only takes about 5 seconds. Exactly what I was looking for!
