How to build a Zwave controlled multi-speed fan using these

Many years ago I built a fan for the whole house. I connected it to 2 separate switches to control the fan. One to power the fan and a high/low SPDT switch (to prevent both windings from being powered at the same time or causing a fire). Then I decided to update the Zwave switch and the same high/low switch but. He kept burning the Zwave switch. twice. I replaced it so I decided to use these instead (MUCH CHEAPER!). I then replaced the high/low switch with a Zwave switch and redid the wiring. I'm using a Zwave to power one of these relays to power the motor (without powering the motor through the Zwave switch so the back EMF doesn't burn it out again). then a second Zwave switch to power a second relay to power the motor windings at high or low speed. It works great and so far I've run it all night a few times with no hiccups. Both relays are in a 2 pin switch box with a blank cover and they worked great when I first tried it. Not only that, I can now control the speed of the motor without the complicated Zwave macro to switch between speeds. (which could cause earlier zwave switches to die). Very satisfied and it works great (so far).

  • Package Contents: 2 Power Relays, 10 Lead Wires
Cons
