Review on Zoeller M63 Premium Series 5-Year Warranty Mighty-Mate 1/3 HP Submersible Sump Pump by Cody Johnson

Best drain pump I have found

I have been using Zoeller pumps for many years and have been using this Zoeller M63 drain pump for about 1.5 years. It replaced the Zoeller M57 which had problems with the float switch after about 4 or 5 years. Zoeller was great in sending me a replacement switch set. This was my second Zoeller M57 that I owned and the original had the switches changed 1 or 2 times. The pump itself was great, but the M57 derailleur doesn't hold up well. I explained to Zoller that I keep a spare sump pump for emergencies, and they told me that it wasn't a good idea to keep a spare pump in a drawer. They explained that the seals could fail and recommended having a spare switch on hand instead. So far I've been very happy with the M63 and it should fix all the shortcomings of the M57. The M63 has an upgrade switch and a download switch. The M63 also comes with a 5 year warranty as opposed to the 3 year warranty on the M57. As an added feature, the M63 has a glow plug to let you know there is power to the unit. It seems such a small thing, but quite convenient. Overall I'm very optimistic that these Zoeller M63 will last much longer than the M57 submersible pumps I've had before and the price difference is so small that the M57 isn't even worth considering. The basement is expensive, so I always recommend a good quality drain pump and a battery-powered drain pump. It just doesn't make sense not to spend a few hundred dollars more on home security. The ideal arrangement is three drain pumps: two regular drain pumps and one backup battery drain pump. A sump pump is installed just above the main pump, so if the main pump fails, the second will turn on when the water level rises on it. It's also effective when you get caught in a heavy storm and more water comes in than the pump can handle. I also recommend using pump stands to keep the drain pump off the bottom of the pit. I've seen rocks and pebbles jamming the wheels on a number of occasions. Zoeller offers a really nice and versatile pump stand.
