Not High Performance Topcoat

This is NOT a High Performance Topcoat (HPTC). If you want something more permanent, first apply 2 coats of HPTC in a satin or semi-gloss finish, then apply another coat of that. All of the products in this range are a little shinier than you would expect or the label would suggest. It can pull tannins out of the wood even on painted surfaces and leaves a stained surface, especially on light shades. You run the risk of rubbing browns and reds through the paint, which is less likely once you've used a good primer. and use Flat Out Flat. Luckily I was on the third drawer wiping off the first coat of paint when I looked at the dry first drawer and saw pinkish brown stains all over it. I had to repaint the boxes, resand and use a different product. (I used Polyvine in a wax finish) ALL generic HPTC finishes and this product will do unless you use another product to seal it such as. B. a primer or shellac under a paint or decorative finish. HPTC and this product are not intended as a primer to seal parts against leaks. Please note that most GF paints do not require a top coat unless they are on commonly used surfaces such as kitchen cabinets or worktops.
