Cable Matters DisplayPort Male to HDMI Female Adapter Cable

I have purchased several of these DisplayPort to HDMI cable adapters for various servers and laptops that I have. Since all of these computers only come with DisplayPorts and not HDMI, they are essential for connecting to HDTVs and monitors. I have DisplayPort to HDMI adapters from Bytek, Cobol, SYBA and a few other manufacturers. These adapters from Cable Matters are as good as the best. Retractable latches are located at the end of the display port to secure it in the port. This is a good feature for maintaining a secure connection. The HDMI female end doesn't have clips, but the cable in the HDMI female end is strong enough to hold it in place if you don't move it too often. I have not plugged or unplugged any cords from these adapters hundreds of times to see if the fit loosens. All I can say is the fit is as good as any other adapter and better than most. The cable portion of the adapter is flexible enough to withstand a 180 degree bend without going slack. I will say that problems can arise if you want to connect to a device that is placed directly on the wall. Leave an absolute minimum distance of 8 cm (3+ inches) between the back of the device and the wall. You can't unplug or plug the adapter in this tight space, just plug the end of the adapter into your device and bend the cable 90 degrees. I bought them as returned or open pieces. Some devices came in open packaging, but the pair looked like new. After unpacking, they are indistinguishable from new adapters. Performance is on par with the best DisplayPort to HDMI adapters I own. Plug'n'Play adapter. On 64-bit (or 32-bit) Windows 7 Pro there are no problems with adapters. Both surround sound and 1080p video are transmitted without any problems. I did not try to transfer gigabyte data files and check the transfer speed. All I can say is that they work great for 1080p and surround sound. As a returned/refurbished item, I got a discount of about 5% on the new price. I wish it was less expensive but the price has been competitive and the performance so far has been excellent.
