🔌 Cable Matters DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter | NOT for USB Ports, Optimum Compatibility for Computers Review

I have always had a great experience buying Cable Matters products. These were no exceptions. The DP to HDMI adapters are $30 at my local big box store so I was looking for something quality that wasn't so counterintuitive, they were perfect. Use them for 3 Nvidia surround monitors behind a GTX1060 (see image) and as you can see they work great. I highly recommend them!

My PC uses 3 displays. I replaced my current wires which were a bit busted and the video came and went while the wires shook. The wire chain looks like this; Display - VGA to DVI - DVI to DisplayPort - PC. I've replaced this setup with the updated cabling as follows: VGA to HDMI - HDMI to DisplayPort. This product froze my startup 2 times and then I had the blue screen disabled and everything worked fine. I think I need an ACTIVE DisplayPort adapter.

This purchase was a waste of money for me as I either want to read the FAQ more closely or learn more. carefully in my research. I tried connecting my Dell monitor (DisplayPort) to Mac (HDMI) and PC (HDMI) but neither worked. After reading the Q&A extensively, I found out why it didn't work because the cable is unidirectional and only supports DISPLAYPORT to HDMI. It can be a good product if your scenario fits the design of the product. The 1 star rating is just a warning.

Works well with medium sized flat screen TVs but can't handle 60+. Does the job, only problem is I bought 3 pack when you start plugging them into the graphics card the width of the plastic around the connectors will bind. This puts pressure on the connectors and can damage your graphics card or the adapters themselves. I think you can shave the sides 16 inches on each side and they'll be fine, but why would you? I have purchased several of these DisplayPort to HDMI cable adapters for various servers and laptops that I have. Since all of these computers only come with DisplayPorts and not HDMI, they are essential for connecting to HDTVs and monitors.
