I use this light on a 20 gallon reef tank. I needed something more than my 2 bulb HO light and this is almost perfect. The lamp itself works perfectly, the ends of the lamps are protected by a plastic sleeve and O-rings. (bulb not included) and easy to install. If you break a lightbulb while inserting or removing it, you may also need help tying your shoelaces. Serious. Another thing is that this light sits nicely on top of the aquarium, but is closer to the water than we'd like in a plastic-rimmed aquarium. If you use the included brackets for a rimless fish tank, the height will be a little higher and fit the fish tank better. It can also be hung and comes with a good set of cables. All in all a great powerful device with many uses. You just need your own 24" HO t5 bulb. Usually around $20. Updated 2/17/16. The original setup I received failed after a few weeks. Revain's return was very quick and easy. The replacement unit works still as it should. I hope this doesn't happen again. Despite this delay, I still really like the design and features.
