Review on Preserve Fresh Herbs With Prepara Herb Savor Pod 2.0 by Ickey Case

Be prepar-a-d to eat some herbs!

Purchased 1) cilantro 2) Italian parsley and 3) watercress to check out my new herb savor pod. Cilantro fit in pretty nicely and the savor closed up pretty well.Italian parsley needed a big 'ol haircut to make the herbs fit. They had to be squished a bit but I was able to get the savor closed eventually by using a tight rubber band to hold it shut. I ate the remaining parsley.Watercress: complete fail. I would need to throw out nearly half of the grocery store bundle to get it to fit. I finally gave up and stripped the herbs into a small Rubbermaid produce saver container. We'll see how that fares. My daughter likes watercress sandwiches but forgets we have the watercress if I bury it in the produce drawer. The footprint is smaller than the stainless version, but it is still very tall and only fits in one place in the refrigerator. The jury is out as to whether my family will remember to check the door for parsley, Italian parsley, and cilantro for their salads and snacks.A place for a label would make it nicer, as well as being about 10-20% bigger, if only at the top to hold the leaves. The base is nice and slim and does not take up too much space in the door bin (vs. the stainless version).I wonder if these were 'road tested' with real grocery store quantities? Perhaps a trip to the farmers' market to see if I can get a smaller quantity is in order. We never can eat all of that parsley/cilantro anyway.

Pros
  • These are great and a perfect gift.
Cons
  • I wish it was wider and the closure was stronger
