The company responded quickly to my concerns.

I bought the wrong cover (not seller's fault). Make sure you buy the correct item or it won't fit and will break. Locate your iPad model number on the back and select the correct size for your iPad. Update: I've had this case for almost 1 year now and use it daily (including when flying and driving). This case looks like new, no cracks, no signs of wear/breakage. I am now upgrading this to a 5 star product. The case is very durable!
