This is a well designed tower for 12 Pi or other devices and 3 fans help to keep them cool. This new model lets you skip the LED wires if you don't need colored fans. WARNING: If you're looking at this 12-device version and think you'll grow into it, know that it's easy to add devices as you go. You pretty much have to collect it and then leave; You'll find that if you start with a few devices and then want to add more, you'll have to completely disassemble it to add additional devices. If you only have 4 or 8 devices, consider smaller versions of this device. There are many holes on the mounting plates. They are designed for Raspberry Pi, 2.5" HDD/SSD and Jetson Nano, but of course if you have other devices with the same attachment points, you can use them. In a nice little plastic box to organize them. Despite good packaging, went my plastic box broke during shipping and all the small parts were scattered all over my package.It took me a while to sort them all - not a good start for a project.Setting up your devices on 12 plates takes a while. Note that most online instructions I've seen say to place the stands with the stand's "hole" facing the platter, and screw the stand from the bottom of the platter, and use you the nut from above if you have a power supply or other device I did it differently and I think it's better this way - I put the nut on the bottom of the board and a gap through the hole on the plate and insert the screws into the top of the Pi (as if you are inserting the motherboard into the case). The kit includes adapters that plug into the PI's SD card slot and extend the SD card slot to the front of the PI. It's a nice and important touch because if you fold the case, you can't get to the SD card slots. They also give you "clicky" SD card slots. If you try to use them with Pi clones they will only work if the SD card is in the exact same place on the board. These are not flexible cables, they are rigid. It is quite difficult to remove the protective layer from laser cut acrylic parts. 12 plaques in particular - on all these plaques the small inscription and protective varnish within the lowercase letters have not been completely removed. Of course, that's not a big deal, but if you're a perfectionist, you're going to want to get rid of all that. The protective coating on the underside of the panels is difficult to run off. At first I didn't think there was anything going on. It will take you some time to remove all protective layers. BE CAREFUL - You can easily break the tabs on the panels by trying to insert them into the holes in the side rails. It would be nice if a few extra plates were included in the kit. I don't know of any way to get more than buying a smaller version of this rack to get some spares. This isn't a case where you can build as you grow - you need to plan to have all your equipment ready to go. set when you assemble it. You can't start with a few gadgets and add more when you get them because you'll have to completely disassemble it to add more gadgets. Also, it's difficult to access the side Pi connectors (video, power, GPIO pins) after assembly, so you should connect cables (including fan cables) during assembly. Once the rack is assembled it is very difficult to add/replace cables later. While the instructions will give you the basics of assembling this kit, they are not very detailed and the pictures are not very helpful. It may be helpful to watch some YouTube videos. Also the 52pi wiki has basically the same instructions but with slightly larger images. Finally, in the box was a card with an email address to get support. The email address on this card is not working. Geekpi doesn't have a website, but I found that the 52pi wiki has information about this product. Unfortunately I don't see a support contact list for ordering parts etc. I recommend this product but I know what you're getting into! PROS: * Only 12-pi (or other device) "rack" I know of * Large fans move air and are quiet * LED fan headers are isolated from power so you can use LEDs or not * Reliable if all together * Can accommodate up to 12 Raspberry Pi, 2.5 HD/SD or Jetson in any Nano combination * All small parts are sorted in a nice plastic box CONS: * Takes time to assemble * Adding devices later is not easy * Side Pi -Bushings are difficult to reach after assembly *Acrylic backing plates can easily break during assembly *Protective varnish is difficult to remove from all laser cut acrylic parts *No "extra parts" are included. If you break something or lose a nut or bolt, you're stuck
