These lights were bright and had the basic functions you would expect. You can cycle through 12 modes or set single colors. What you can't do is pick multiple colors to turn on at once. For example, I wanted orange and purple for Halloween. I bought these based on an answered question, and it was incorrect. There are a few presets like red, white, and blue, and red & white. You can't pick a single color and then have that twinkle or other effects. I took a pic of the instructions with the modes available.
