Fans work but decently loud when running on 5v, when running on 3.3v they can still be noisy (louder than 20dB) as the blade appears unbalanced and will vibrate randomly or rub against its own chassis. (sometimes very loud). You can straighten it out by shaking the fan slightly, turn it off again briefly, it works, but not very well. and without the supplied spacer nuts. As a result, I went with a significantly more expensive but quiet and high-quality Noctua NF-A4X10-FLX 5V. its great width, but installed normally with little work.
