I own 2 other jackets of the same style from other manufacturers which were in the same price range. This one runs circles around them with quality and construction. The coat is light in weight but warm and if you layer it is even warmer. I have not worn it in the rain, but what I can tell you my other two jackets are made of the same material and they do keep you dry for an extended period of time. If you are going to be in that type of weather for a long period of time you are going to get damp underneath. The CQR has a different configuration with the pockets and is more convenient than my other two coats. The detachable hood is a plus, this is why I ordered this coat. My other black coat has a hood that rolls into a collar and held with Velcro which is uncomfortable. I wear X-LG and when I ordered my other two coats I had to return them they were to small, ordered a size larger XX-LG and they fit perfect. So I ordered XX-LG with the CQR and it fits just right also. I weigh 220 and I'm 5'11" and I'm built on the muscular side, hope this helps. Do yourself a favor and order one of these, it is a good value. An I was not payed in anyway to write this review.
