The power cord is too short to handle the amperage required to heat the blanket. I suspected this would be a problem when I opened the package. After connecting the heating pad for testing, the power cord became very hot and smoke began to come out of the heating pad. Before I could turn off the heating pad, the switch controlling the outlet went off. This product is not safe to use. It is strongly discouraged from using it, especially for pets.
