I have only tested one of the three so far and installed it with the sensor in the sump of the water heater. As we know every coin has 2 sides so here is my $0.02 for these sensors. Pros: * You are very sensitive. I licked my finger and ran it over the contacts. The alarm clock is activated. When I removed my finger it stopped.* They are small and have a 3 or 4 foot cord so you can place the alarm far enough away from the water source.* There is a suction cup on the back of each alarm for Mounting They also provide a piece of double sided tape if you want to mount either the alarm or the sensor more securely. * They come with a small stand to hold the sensor on the floor or a pallet. The suction cups are weak and difficult to stick to the water heater when pressed. * The sensor consists of 2 conductive points separated by an air gap of approximately 1/2 inch. Water/liquid must touch both plates for a circuit to form and operate. The alarm will not go off if water drips or splashes.* The sensor holder that comes with the devices holds the sensors about a quarter of the thickness over whatever surface they are placed on. The water level must be at least low enough to trigger the alarm when using a mount. * There is no "off" channel switch on these devices. While this doesn't seem to be a problem for most people, if you decide to place the alarm indoors and the sensor is in a more remote location (e.g. a basement), there is no easy way to disable the alarm. located.
