Works fantastic with slight modifications

Our basement developed cracks that we didn't realize were causing massive damage. We have since repaired these sections, but we still have a section that is leaking from excessively heavy rain that we are still working on. I wanted to be able to detect water ingress _instantly_ to avoid damage. Placing the sensor in a plastic holder means you must have a water depth of 1/16 inch or more before the contacts come in contact with the water and disable the sensor. In my case, this would already be…

Can you say it out loud?! However, you will need Velcro to attach it.

This is exactly what we needed. We placed two of these in the attic, in metal tubs for each water heater. Unlike some older standalone devices, they can be used in a metal shell because the contacts don't come in contact with metal. I placed them in the pots and attached the horns to the side of the water heaters with velcro (the included suction cups are useless). Then I closed the attic door, put on the gunslinger's headphones, licked my finger and touched the contacts, which set off one of…

prevent catastrophe! Best in Home Sensors and Alarms

I had a model that sat on the floor next to my sump pump. Luckily he warned us that the water was starting to overflow due to a pump failure. The water came from melting all the snow. It wasn't a sudden heavy rain. For now! Luckily my wife can hear well enough to notice that the alarm went off. It turned out that the backup battery in the secondary pump was dead. What I didn't understand is that the primary installation has been out of service for a long time. Even if you have a spare pump…

Well they work. :)

I have only tested one of the three so far and installed it with the sensor in the sump of the water heater. As we know every coin has 2 sides so here is my $0.02 for these sensors. Pros: * You are very sensitive. I licked my finger and ran it over the contacts. The alarm clock is activated. When I removed my finger it stopped.* They are small and have a 3 or 4 foot cord so you can place the alarm far enough away from the water source.* There is a suction cup on the back of each alarm for…
